According to KickOff, Arendse says that the 25-year-old has been immense for The Students as they secured a third place finish in the PSL.
“He had a great impact on Wits’ success this season. Without being biased, I think Hlatshwayo deserves that award; he has worked extremely hard for his club,” said Arendse who is also Wits’ goalkeeper coach.
“Looking at the way he performed for the national team, it shows that he had some consistency going.”
However, the SuperSport analyst also admits that the likes of Teko Modise and Tefu Mashamaite have also impressed him throughout the PSL season.
“The Kaizer Chiefs defensive record speaks for itself and Tefu really did well at the back. I was also impressed by the way Teko Modise played at Sundowns. I think both these players did it for me, but the player of the season will be Hlatshwayo for me.”
