Johannesburg - Orlando Pirates midfielder Andile Jali will undergo a scan on Friday to assess if he is ready for Saturday’s MTN8 semi-final clash against Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs.
According to the Soccer-Laduma website, Jali sustained an injury in Pirates’ 4-1 win over Zamalek in the CAF Champions League’s Group A macth at Orlando Stadium last weekend.
Pirates coach Roger de Sa told the Siya crew that a decision on whether to play Jali would be made after Friday’s tests.
“He has been training with the team this week, which is a good sign that he might be ok, but we have to wait for the results of the scan first before making any decisions,” said De Sa.
Meanwhile, the Bucs mentor confirmed that midfielder Thandani Ntshumayelo and Collins Mbesuma will be unavailable for selection in Saturday's Soweto derby.
The duo sustained injuries during Bucs’ hard fought MTN8 quarter-final win over SuperSport United, which Pirates won on penalties.
