AmaZulu target Tuks' Massa

Cape Town - Relegation threatened AmaZulu plan to beef up their squad in January, with University of Pretoria striker Geofrey Massa a wanted man in Durban.

Usuthu have endured a torrid season - with just one win in 16 games, they are nine points away from climbing out of the relegation zone.

The arrival of former AmaTuks coach Steve Barker has injected some energy and hope into the squad, and results have started to trickle through over the last month.

But, according to team manager Japhet Zwane, the squad will be reinforced during the upcoming transfer window as the club attempts to mount a comeback in the second half of the campaign.

And one player coming down to Durban could be Massa. The Ugandan-born AmaTuks striker has worked with Barker for several years in Pretoria, and has been in excellent goal-scoring form of late, his tally for the season currently on seven.

"Yes there are targets but we cannot reveal because these players can be targeted by other clubs.

"The coach will then decide who he’d like to bring in as he knows players concerning players like Geofrey Massa," Zwane revealed to the AmaZulu website.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
