Durban - Following their most impressive win of the season, AmaZulu midfielder Goodman Dlamini believes it is still possible for the KwaZulu-Natal outfit to avoid automatic relegation.
Usuthu hammered SuperSport United 5-2 in an Absa Premiership clash played at the Lucas Moripe Stadium last Sunday, with the 29-year-old grabbing a brace.
AmaZulu are still rooted at the bottom of the log with 12 points, trailing 15th placed Platinum Stars by 6 points with only 10 games left to play.
Dlamini also stressed that it is significant for his side to start collecting maximum points in each game they will play going forward, if they want to catch up with Dikwena and Moroka Swallows.
“It’s very important for us to catch up with the teams above us,” said Dlamini.
“And the win against SuperSport United played a vital role with this regard.
“It’s always difficult for us when we lose matches because it worsens our risk of being relegated.
“But if we continue to work hard and play the same way we did against SuperSport, there is hope that we’ll still be in the PSL next season.”
Usuthu will be looking to keep the momentum going when they travel to Mbombela to face Mpumalanga Black Aces on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 20:15.
