Johannesburg - Roger Palmgren has been rewarded for helping AmaZulu end the Premiership season in the top eight with a new two-year deal, the club confirmed on Tuesday.
The Swede took over the reins from Manqoba Mngithi, initially until May this year, when he steered the Durban team to a seventh-place finish in the league, while they also reached the Nedbank Cup semi-finals.
A statement issued by the club said that AmaZulu have extended the contract of their head coach, Roger Palmgren for another two years to enable the Swedish mentor to start his plans with the KZN club in the new season.
General Manager, Peter O’Connor, also confirmed that his technical team will remain the same, meaning his number two will again be former Kaizer Chiefs striker Fani Madida.
AmaZulu have already recruited two players during the off-season with defender Prince Hlela joining from Bloemfontein Celtic and striker Sifiso Vilakazi was signed from Wits.
