AmaZulu eye Swallows victory

Cape Town - AmaZulu will look to end 2014 on a high when they host Moroka Swallows at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

AmaZulu played to a second successive draw when they were held 1-1 away to Ajax Cape Town in midweek.

The Durban side has claimed four points from six home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Orlando Pirates (home), Bloemfontein Celtic (away) and Mamelodi Sundowns (home).

Usuthu are placed 16th on the Absa Premiership log with nine points from 15 matches.

Swallows played to a second successive draw when they held Orlando Pirates 1-1 in midweek.

The Soweto side has claimed eight points from six away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Mamelodi Sundowns, Polokwane City (both away) and Bidvest Wits (home).

The Birds are placed 14th on the Absa Premiership log with 16 points from as many matches.

In head-to-head stats, AmaZulu and Swallows have met in 51 league matches since 1985.

The Birds have 19 wins compared to 14 for Usuthu, while 18 matches have been drawn.

AmaZulu have won nine of their 25 home matches against Swallows, suffering eight defeats in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season in Soweto, the Birds claimed a narrow 2-1 home win.

Kick-off is at 18:00 on Saturday, December 20.
