AmaTuks to hold onto impetus

Cape Town - University of Pretoria will look to continue their fine form in the Absa Premiership when they host Platinum Stars at Tuks Stadium.

University of Pretoria recorded a third win from their last four league matches when they defeated Maritzburg United 1-0 on Sunday.

The Tshwane side has claimed 15 points from 11 home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are SuperSport United, Bloemfontein Celtic (both away) and Kaizer Chiefs (home).

AmaTuks are placed seventh on the Absa Premiership log with 29 points from 21 matches.

Stars broke a seven-match winless streak when they defeated Moroka Swallows 1-0 on Sunday.

The Rustenburg side has claimed seven points from 10 away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Maritzburg United, Ajax Cape Town (both home) and Orlando Pirates (away).

Dikwena are placed 14th on the log with 21 points from 20 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Tuks and Stars have met in five league matches since 2012/13.

Each side has claimed one win and there have been three drawn encounters.

The Pretoria side has an unbeaten record at home to Stars, with one win and one draw from two matches.

When the teams met earlier this season they played to a goalless draw in Rustenburg.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Wednesday, March 11.
