Akoriko awaits work permit

Cape Town - Sadate Ouro Akoriko is awaiting his work permit before he can participate in his first full PSL season with AmaZulu.

According to Soccer Laduma, the former Free State Stars defender has signed a pre-contract with AmaZulu in January although he has been playing in friendly games.

Akoriko scored a goal against Mpumalanga Black Aces in a friendly tournament two weeks ago which saw them beat Clive Barker’s side 2-1.

The defender says that he wants to win a trophy in the PSL with AmaZulu but knows the hard work the team has to put in to achieve that.

"I may be new to the club but the coach has been building this team towards winning something and I want to be a part of that," Akoriko said to the clubs website after he sealing his three-year deal with AmaZulu.

"I didn’t win anything at Free State Stars and it’s one of my dreams to win a trophy in the PSL."

"There’s a lot of work and planning that goes into making a dream like that a reality so I will work hard for my place in the team, try to play consistently and hopefully I will avoid any serious injuries."

"We’ll do our best to finish in the top five in the league and try to win one of the cups as well."

AmaZulu are up against Ajax Cape Town at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in their first PSL encounter on Sunday, August 10 at 15:00
