Ajax's Magqwaka to Sundowns?

Cape Town - Ayabulela Magqwaka could soon be a Mamelodi Sundowns player.

According to Soccer Laduma, the Ajax Cape Town defender has been a target for the Brazilians after an impressive season with the Urban Warriors.

Pitso Mosimane has issued a statement of intent by saying that he wants to defend the PSL title with the Sundowns having already signed Mario Booysen and Rheece Evans from Maritzburg United.

With CAF Champions League also on there itinerary it makes sense that the former Bafana coach wants to bulk up his defense as they see Magqwaka as a prospect for the future as well.

The South African under-20 captain’s agent has said that Ajax are willing to sell the player who hails from Gugulethu but for the right fee. It is know that the fee is quite high but Patrice Motsepe is willing to match the offer in order for the player to move to Chloorkop.

Ajax’s chairman, Ari Efstathiou, has only recently returned from Brazil and it is understood that negotiations for the player will soon take place.
