Ajax to starve Dikwena out

Cape Town - Platinum Stars will host an in-form Ajax Cape Town when the teams meet in the Absa Premiership at Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

Stars suffered their 10th league defeat of the season when they were beaten 2-1 at home by Maritzburg United last month.

The Rustenburg side has claimed 14 points from 11 home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Orlando Pirates (away), SuperSport United (home) and Mamelodi Sundowns (away).

Dikwena are placed 13th on the Absa Premiership log with 24 points from 22 matches.

Ajax claimed a third win from their last four league matches when they defeated Black Aces 2-1 at home last month.

The Cape Town side has claimed nine points from 11 away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Free State Stars (away), University of Pretoria (home) and Maritzburg United (away).

The Urban Warriors are placed fifth on the Absa Premiership log with 34 points from 23 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Stars and Ajax have met in 23 league matches since 2003/04.

The Urban Warriors have 11 wins compared to six for Dikwena, while six matches have been drawn.

Stars have won four of their 11 home matches against Ajax, suffering four defeats in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season, the Urban Warriors claimed a 2-1 home victory in Cape Town.

Kick-off is at 20:15.on Saturday, April 4.
