Ajax sign Zimbabwean star

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town have announced the signing of Simba Sithole who played for How Mine FC in the Zimbabwean Premier League.

Sithole was signed on a two-year contract and is expected at Ikamva after the weekend.

He was part of Zimbabwe’s CHAN squad and played three games, scoring twice for the Warriors in their game against Mali.

Sithole is a former Masvingo Christian College star player and is How Mine FC’s top goal-scorer with six goals to his name this season, helping them to finish as runners-up in the Mbada Diamonds Cup to qualify for the 2014 CAF Confederations Cup.

“Simba is a robust player in and around the penalty area. He is quick, strong on his feet and is not afraid to take on defenders in a one-one situation,” said Ajax caretaker coach Ian Taylor.

“Sithole likes to be involved in the game, is very mobile in possession and his height will enhance Ajax’s aerial capabilities.”

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
