The Cape Town-based club said that they will play against Wolfsburg on 10 January, before squaring off against Dutch club Zwolle later in the month.

The intention is for all three clubs to make the most of the mid-season break, before the respective leagues resume next year.

"Ajax Cape Town are proud to announce that German Bundesliga giants VfL Wolfsburg will be conducting a training camp at Ikamva in January 2015," read a statement on the clubs website.

"After that Ajax will face Wolfsburg in a match known as the Cape Town Friendship Cup. VfL Wolfsburg will begin their preparations for the second round of the 2014/15 Bundesliga season, while Ajax face over a month without any PSL action, due to the 2015 Afcon which will be held in Equatorial Guinea," continued the statement.

Both clubs have enjoyed relative success in their respective leagues this season, as Ajax are currently fourth in the Premiership standings, while Wolfsburg are second in the German top flight. The Wolfsburg training sessions will be open to the public.

"We are proud to host such a big European team at our facilities. We’ll be more than happy to host any other teams as well in the future. We’ve got world class facilities and are very capable of accommodating a team of such magnitude," said Ajax Cape Town Marketing Director Alexi Efstathiou.

"With this, Ajax Cape Town gets another opportunity to be exposed internationally. This also gives us an opportunity to forge relationships with other European clubs, other than Ajax Amsterdam," added Efstathiou.

"Herewith we are also able to measure our players against world class opposition. For all football lovers, this match offers an opportunity to see quality football with the guarantee of loads of goals. This is guaranteed entertainment for all and a must watch."

Further details of the arrangement will be revealed closer to the fixture.
