Aces put five past Swallows

Nelspruit - Mpumalanga Black Aces beat Moroka Swallows 5-2 in a thrilling Absa Premiership clash at the KaNyamazane Stadium with Abia Nale and Tendai Ndou both getting a brace.

Aces’ other goal was netted by Miguel Timm while Edward Manqele and Siyabonga Nomvete scored for Swallows.

The match never got off to a flying start but the second half was all action as four goals went in during a very exciting passage of play.

Home team Aces opened the scoring when Zimbabwean forward Tendai Ndoro slotted a chance following good work by Themba Zwane in the 23rd minute.

But Swallows pounced with a reply goal in the 32 minute when Edward Manqele netted after some good work by Lerato Chabangu.

For the next ten minutes of the game, neither team really looked like gaining an advantage until the 44th minute when Zwane found Miguel Timm who made it 2-1.

Then the exciting Ndoro got free towards the near post in the 62nd minute and rounded the goalkeeper, but he was unlucky to see his effort missing the target.

Just seven minutes later the Zimbabwean striker did put away his second goal of the game, this time from Abia Nale’s supply. Nale was getting more and more into the game at this stage.

Then in the 75th minute it was Nale’s turn to score before Siyabonga Nomvete made it 4-2 in favour of Aces as the second half continued to rain goals.

Then Nale struck from the penalty spot to make it 5-2 after Nergadze had fouled Ndoro.

Final score 5-2 to Black Aces.
