Ace Khuse welcomes Komphela appointment

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs legend Ace Khuse has welcomed Steve Komphela’s appointment at Naturena.

Khuse was the last South African to coach Kaizer Chiefs, although this was only for a few games on an interim basis after the sacking of Vladimir Vermezovic in 2012.

The last South African coach to take the Chiefs job full time was Trott Moloto in 1994.

Khuse has hailed Komphela’s appointment as a great development for the national game.

“I think it’s great that a South African coach has been appointed at Kaizer Chiefs,” Khuse said.

“I believe that Steve can take Chiefs to greater heights.

“It has been a long time for us waiting for a South African to coach Kaizer Chiefs.

“There is a lot of pressure, you know Kaizer Chiefs supporters always want the team to win.

“The management will allow him to deliver.”
