Neville Neville, 63, was questioned on Sunday by detectives from Greater Manchester Police investigating an alleged sexual assault in Bury in the early hours of Saturday.

He has since been bailed pending further inquiries.

The alleged victim is believed to be an adult woman.

A police spokesperson said: "Police are investigating a sexual assault which happened in the early hours of Saturday, March 23, 2013.

"A 63-year-old man from Bury was arrested on suspicion of indecent assault and has been bailed till May pending further inquiries.

"Inquiries are ongoing."

Neville Neville acts as agent to his sons, Everton captain Phil and former Manchester United captain Gary.

Gary was among the coaches for the England team's World Cup qualifier against Montenegro in Podgorica on Tuesday.

Neville Neville, a former league cricketer, was also formerly a director of English League One club Bury and helped to keep the club in business when it experienced financial problems.
