Moriri: We owe it to Motsepe

Johannesburg - Surprise Moriri says it is high time Mamelodi Sundowns players realise that Patrice Motsepe deserves some reward for his investment in the club.

According to football.com website, the Brazilians face Bloemfontein Celtic in Saturday's Telkom Knockout final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Moriri, who is one of Downs' longest-serving players, told Football411 that the time has come to put a smile on Motsepe's face after a four-season trophy drought.

"We are not under pressure as such and everyone is excited, but the reality is that the boss (Motsepe) has put his weight behind Sundowns and he deserves something," the 32-year-old midfielder said.

"He is a businessman and as a businessman, when you put something in you want to see results.

"We have had meetings with him, but all he has said is that we must just keep working hard. So there is no pressure on any of the players but like I said he deserves something.

"Winning the trophy will mean a lot for the boss, but also for everyone at the club because we haven't won anything in so many seasons.

"I know we have struggled this season, but we have worked very hard to reach the final so I'm hoping that we will get something out of this. Considering the way we started, lifting the cup will be a big motivation for the rest of the season.

"Celtic is a good team, though and we respect them a lot but we will put everything in this final to be successful."
