Komphela snubs SAFA job

Cape Town - Free State Stars coach Steve Komphela has opted to stay with his team and not take up the the position of technical director at the South African Football Assocaition.

Komphela, who lost the national coaching race to Gordon Igesund was poised to replace Serame Letsoaka, whose contract expired last month.

Komphela spent the latter half of last season as an assistant to Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane, who has since been relived of his duties.

He maintained his position at Stars while assisting Mosimane, however following Mosimane’s dismissal, he was seen as a front runner to take over at the helm of the South African national team.
