Jose hopes for England return

Madrid - Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho hopes his next job will be back in the English Premiership "in a couple of years."

The Portuguese left Chelsea in 2007 after winning two league titles and was hired by Madrid in 2010 after a trophy-laden two seasons at Inter Milan.

But success in Madrid has been limited to one Copa del Rey title while Barcelona, a side considered the best ever, has dominated Spanish and European football.

"I am very, very happy to be in Real Madrid, it is a great experience for me. I believe it is probably the biggest club in the history of football," the 48-year-old Mourinho told BBC radio in an interview aired on Monday.

"But my passion is England and my next step will be to go back and if possible, go and stay for a long time," said Mourinho, whose Madrid contract expires in 2014.

Madrid currently have a three-point lead over Barcelona.

Mourinho was interviewed by Sebastian Coe, the double Olympic middle-distance champion who heads the 2012 London Olympics organising committee and who was guest editing Radio Four's Today program on Monday.

"Get me a club in a couple of years," Mourinho asked Coe, who is a Chelsea fan.

"Get me a good club."
