Cape Town - Wayne Rooney rolled back the years to produce an amazing passage of play in the dying minutes to hand DC United a dramatic 3-2 win over Orlando City.
Luciano Acosta struck a hat-trick as DC United grabbed a late win after the former England international's heroics in a sensational passage of play in the dying seconds.
With the goalkeeper in the opponents half after an attacking corner - Rooney ran back 70 yards to chase down an opponent with the goal at his mercy and put in a goal saving challenge.
After winning back possession Rooney carried the ball back into the attacking third and hit a pin-point diagonal pass to set up Acosta for the winning goal in stoppage-time.

Truly, honestly have goosebumps after what Wayne Rooney just did. Unbelievable heart to run down that ball. #DCU

That is an all-time great #MLS highlight from Wayne Rooney. The tackle alone — from a gassed superstar sprinting 70 yards to make a sliding sto and save a sure goal — was spectacular. Then to hit that pass for a stoppage-time winner? Absurd. Just Absurd.

Wayne Rooney saves an open net with a perfect slide tackle, keeps the ball in play, gets up, takes two touches, crosses it into the shortest player in the league who skies up to head it in, complete his hat trick, and give his team the win.
