WATCH: Lucas Moura in tears watching Champions League winner

Cape Town - Tottenham hero Lucas Moura could not hide back the tears when he watched his own Champions League semi-final winner on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old Brazilian etched his name into Spurs history with a second-half hat-trick against Ajax Amsterdam that booked his side a place in the June 1 final against Liverpool in Madrid.

Spurs were 3-0 down on aggregate at half-time and facing almost certain exit from the competition, but what followed was one of the great Champions League comebacks.

Now, footage has surfaced of Lucas Moura being shown his winner, and he could not contain himself.

On his way out of the stadium, the midfielder was shown the goal by a group of broadcasters and journalists, and it is clearly too much for him to handle.

"It is hard to speak ... I have dreamed so much for a moment like this," he said.

"Since I was a child, it was a dream for me."

Liverpool, meanwhile, also produced one of the great Champions League performances when they beat giants Barcelona 4-0 at Anfield to overturn a 3-0 deficit from the first leg.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
