Cape Town - Coca-Cola are inviting fans to get ready for the highly anticipated 2018 Soccer World Cup with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get up close to the authentic solid-gold trophy that will be presented to the winning country of the tournament in July.

World football’s most prized asset was lifted by Spain in South Africa almost 10 years ago and will once again grace the South African shores as part of its global tour leading up to the highly-anticipated world showpiece in Russia.

After visiting various cities across the world, the official trophy will touch down from Mozambique to Johannesburg on Thursday, 1 March where it will be accompanied by FIFA and Coca-Cola dignitaries and South African hip hop sensation, Cassper Nyovest who has teamed up with Jason Derulo for the Coca-Cola FIFA anthem.

Amongst other exciting activities to look out for, fans stand a chance of winning some exciting Coca-Cola merchandise while interacting with the official FIFA World Cup mascot, Zabivaka in the Coke Village.

Bafana Bafana Legend, Lucas Radebe who is also part of the FIFA World Cup™ Tour urged football lovers to come out and enjoy the festivities brought by the FIFA World Cup excitement.

“We all know how big the FIFA World Cup is for us to have an opportunity to relive the 2010 excitement is something to be cherished. I urge people to come out in their numbers and join in on the fun and festivities” said Radebe.
