STATS: Thierry Henry's disastrous 2 months in charge at Monaco

Cape Town - Thierry Henry has been suspended and is expected to be sacked as head coach of AS Monaco after a disastrous 104 days in charge at the club.

Henry was appointed in his maiden job as head coach and inherited the relegation-threatened side who were languishing in 19th position in the Ligue 1 standings.

The 41-year-old France World Cup winner was relieved of his duties on Thursday evening, having failed to improve the club's league position after 20 games.

The former French international was appointed on October 13 and failed to lead his side to a win in his first five games in charge - that included a humiliating defeat to Club Bruges - in the Champions League.

Henry first 5 results (all competitions):

RC Strasbourg 2 - 1 AS Monaco (L)

Club Bruges KV 1 - 1 AS Monaco (D)

AS Monaco 2 - 2 Dijon (D)

Stade de Reims 1 - 0 AS Monaco (L)

AS Monaco 0 - 4 Club Bruges KV (L)

After 20 games in charge, Henry only managed a total of 4 wins with a humiliating win percentage of 20%. He also oversaw the former French champions finishing bottom of their Champions League Group A.

Champions League Group A standings:

Dortmund - 13 points

Atletico Madrid - 13 points

Club Bruges - 6 points

AS Monaco - 1 point

Monaco, who made three signings in the January transfer window are facing a crisis as they remain rooted in the relegation zone as they failed to win their last 5 games.

Former manager Leonado Jardim is believed to have already struck a deal to return to the club after originally being replaced by Henry.
