Cape Town - Southampton midfielder Oriol Romeu believes the club's final pre-season friendly against Sevilla will be a tough challenge and good preparation for the new season.
The Saints get their Premier League campaign underway at home against Swansea City on August 12, and Romeu thinks the clash with Sevilla will be a great way to get up to speed.
“It’s the last test and probably the most important and the hardest one. It is very close to the first fixture in this season," he was quoted as saying by the club's official website.
“It’s going to be nice. We’re going to have to compete a lot and do a lot of good things, mainly to get that good feeling to start the season well and finish pre-season in a good way.
“It will be important to give some extra confidence to start well in the league. We didn’t have a good result in our previous game and we want to change that.
“It will be an even harder game, a tough opponent but we’re looking forward and it’s going to be a great challenge. We need to do our best.
“It’s good to play against the best teams and see which point you’re at in this moment. They just beat Arsenal a week ago so they arrive in a good way and well prepared.”
