Cape Town - Arsenal
midfielder Aaron Ramsey has reminded his teammates how important it is
to get past AC Milan in their Europa League last-16 tie on Thursday
night.
The Gunners recorded an impressive 2-0 victory in Italy in the first leg thanks to goals from Ramsey and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, giving them a clear advantage ahead of the decisive clash at the Emirates Stadium.
Ramsey believes the Europa League represents a great opportunity for the north London club, as they can secure a spot in the Champions League by winning the tournament, and has urged his teammates not to be complacent.
"This game is very important for our season," he said, according to the Evening Standard. "It is a massive opportunity for us.
"In those past experiences we have always tried. We have come up against really top European teams. This will be a great opportunity for us to do that.
"We needed that result in Milan. Obviously it has been a tough run of games for us. We tried in every game but sometimes these things happen where things are not working for you. It is important for us to stay focused.
"We cannot take this one lightly at all. Hopefully we can build on this and go from strength to strength until the end of the season."
