Pardew: Forgive me for my dance

Cape Town - Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has admitted he got caught up in the moment after seeing his side take the lead against Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley.

Jason Puncheon replaced Yohan Cabaye in the 72 minute, with scores tied at 0-0, and went on fire his side in front with a well taken volley just six minutes later.

The goal sparked wild celebrations in the stands and in the Eagles dugout, where TV cameras captured Pardew dancing in unbridled joy.

Pardew's dance was met with mixed responses on social media, prompting reporters to ask him about his celebration in his post-match press conference.

"I enjoyed that moment," Pardew said. "In a cup final, as a manager, it's difficult to enjoy moments. Forgive me for my dance."

Reflecting on his side's performance and the result, he added: "They played with heart passion. It was a great cup final. Man United did the same. It was a game that could have gone either way."
