Cape Town - The representatives of Croatian midfielder Luka Modric has confirmed that the Real Madrid player "wants to be a star in Serie A with Inter Milan".
The Russia 2018 World Cup Golden Ball winner has been continuously linked with a sensational switch to Inter Milan from the Bernabeu.
Madrid have so far proven to be unwilling to sell their star midfielder but now the 32-year-old's agent, Marko Naletilic has confirmed the player's wish to move to Italy.
"The fact Inter Milan tried to sign him and Modric took it into consideration shows the influence Cristiano Ronaldo is already having on Italian football," Naletilic told Tuttosport.
"For whatever reason, Modric wants to be a star in Serie A with Inter. Let's see. I believe that sooner or later Luka will play in Italy. Like a lot of Croatians his age, he grew up watching Italian football."
Sky in Italy report that the chances of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez allowing Modric to leave continue to appear slim with the player and inter willing to wait until transfer deadline day on August 31 to clinch a deal.
