Cape Town - Crystal Palace midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is determined to do his utmost for the club as he aims to earn a call-up to the England World Cup squad.
Cheek missed out on the Three Lions' recent international friendlies due to an ankle injury. England claimed a 1-0 win over the Netherlands on Friday followed by a 1-1 draw with Italy on Tuesday.
However, the Chelsea loanee is fit again and eager to help Palace avoid relegation from the Premier League, in the hope of proving he is good enough to feature for Gareth Southgate's England side at the 2018 World Cup.
"It would be massive for me to go to a World Cup," Loftus-Cheek told the London Evening Standard.
"That is what I am aspiring to but that will come from my performances with Palace at the end of the season,"
"I have spoken to Gareth. He did not say much, he just asked me how my injury was. He wished me all the best for the games to come.
"Right now, I am focused on Palace. I have got seven games to get as much playing time as possible. I am back now and raring to go.
"It is tight down at the bottom but hopefully we can go on a good run."
