That should be it...Gary Cahill thrashes in a poor clearance to make it 3-1.— Phil McNulty (@philmcnulty) February 21, 2016
That should be it...Gary Cahill thrashes in a poor clearance to make it 3-1.
That is it for the first-half.
Full time! Chealsea 5-1 Manchester City. Masterclass from Chelsea's elite against City's young guns. Goals from Costa, Willian, Cahill, Hazard and Traore gave Chelsea the comfortable lead!
Hiddink will certainly hope that this form continues with a crucial second leg vs PSG to follow.
Fabregas was back to his best today with some fantastic interplay and he was at the focal point of most of Chelsea's attacks!
Chelsea will find out their opponent for the next round of the FA Cup this evening, hoping they can continue this form!
But tonight, from Stamford Bridge, the score is Chelsea 5-1 Manchester City!
Hazard and Oscar have a two-on-one counter attack but Hazards ball is behind Oscar. Oscar has to reshape and fire a shot from just outside the box. The shot is wayward, 1 minute to play!
The fourth official has shown 2 additional minutes!
Goal for Chelsea! That's five now! Oscar delivers a whipped cross into Traore who reverse headers the ball past Caballero! Caballero would have loved to have done better there but great ingenuity from the youngster, Traore!
Chelsea 5-1 Manchester City!
Fabregas is back to his feet, totally unharmed.
An accidental collision between Fabregas and Faupala has resulted in Fabregas rolling on the floor in pain. Kolarov, however, will not wait for Fabregas to recover as he rifles a strike from 20 yards, on the left hand side of the Chelsea box but Courtois is equal to it!
Mistake by Azpilicueta gives the ball to Iheanacho but the Nigerian striker fails to create anything with the posession.
Substitution for Chelsea: Mikel is replaced by Matic.
Mikel has done well in the middle for Chelsea, picking up many loose balls and allowing Fabregas to dictate the play.
Magnificent play from Chelsea, yet again! Hazard delivers a low cross into Traore, who seems hungry for a goal, but his shot strikes the post! So close for Chelsea.
Chelsea 4-1 Manchester City with ten to play!
Fantastic footwork from Garcia wins him a free-kick in the middle of the park. It is taken quickly and City eventually lose possession.
Substitution for City: Humphreys replaces Fernando!
The average age of the City team drops even further!
The score is still Chelsea 4-1 Manchester City after that Oscar missed penalty.
Penalty to Chelsea! Traore backs into Demichelis, who is already booked! The referee points to the spot. No card given!
Save from Caballero! Oscar stands over the penalty and stutters. The penalty is at a perfect height for Caballero to his right-hand side! Great save!
Chelsea are distributing the ball really well here, with very little pressure being put on them. City seem happy for them to play in front of their back four.
Substitutions for Chelsea: Oscar replaces Pedro and Bertrand Traore replaces, the goal scorer, Diego Costa.
Traore will be hoping to continue his goal scoring form!
Chance for City! Zabaleta runs into the box and hits in a low cross and it reaches Iheanacho. Iheanacho finds himself on the edge of the 6 yard box, back to goal and he tries and backheel shot! Fantastic ingenuity but there isn't enough power on his strike.
Goal for Chelsea! Hazard takes the free-kick and hits it towards Caballero's side of the goal! Caballero seems to move behind the wall too early, anticipating Hazard to go over, but Hazard has out-foxed him!
Chelsea 4-1 Manchester City!
Hazard shows really quick feet to skip past Demichelis, who in turn brings him down just outside the City box. Willian, Costa, Ivanovic and Hazard all standing over it!
Brilliant interplay between Hazard and Willian results in Hazard laying off Fabregas who pulls his right-footed strike just wide! Some fantastic flicks and tricks on show there!
Still Chelsea 3-1 Manchester City!
The City youngsters are struggling to keep hold of the ball in the second half. Chelsea keep on coming back at them because of it!
Willian plays in Pedro who crosses the ball but Demichelis is there to clear the danger for a corner. The corner is taken by Willian and won by Cahill but this time there is not enough power and Caballero collects it easily.
Ten minutes have passed in the second half and it seems like Chelsea will be in the pot for the quarter final draw later this evening. Hiddink, however, won't be counting his chickens just yet!
Substitution for City: Barker replaces Celina!
Another goal for Chelsea! Hazard plays an aimless ball into the box and Fernando fails to clear it! The ball falls to Gary Cahill who rifles a volley underneath Caballero from just inside the box. Fantastic strike from the Englishman!
Chelsea 3-1 Manchester City!
Claims for a Chelsea penalty! It's waved away and it seems as though Pedro went down very easily under little contact with Garcia.
Goal for Chelasea! Willian makes a marauding run down the centre of the park, he then lays the ball off to Hazard who plays a magnificent ball through the middle of the City back four and he finds Willian! Willian hits a strike across Caballero and it nestles right next to the post, amazing finish!
Chelsea 2-1 Manchester City!
The second half has kicked off! Willian and Costa get us underway! There have been no substitutions at half time with both managers asking for more of the same!
Chelsea have used their dominance of possession well in the first half, moving the ball around crisply and with purpose however City's young guns have really impressed on the break. All to play for in the second half!
Half time! Andre Marriner blows his whistle for half-time despite Chelsea having a corner, the captain Ivanovic is not happy with that call at all!
City's youngsters have really played above themselves in the first half! Faupala and Iheanacho, in particular, have been fantastic and the creator and scorer of the City goal!
Hiddink will be happy with what he has seen but neither manager will be overly happy with a draw, which results in a replay and extra minutes!
Half time at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea 1-1 Manchester City! All to play for!
Azpilicueta fires a ball into Costa's feet. He holds the ball up very well and his cross is blocked and a corner follows for Chelsea! The corner comes to nothing yet again!
A speculative strike from Willian is easily watched by Caballero as it fizzes past his left hand upright.
Chance for Chelsea! Pedro shows great trickery deep inside City's box. He pulls off two step-overs and riffles a shot towards City's near post which is deflected for a corner. The subsequent corner comes to nothing. Still 1-1!
Great save by Caballero! Fabregas' cross is hit by Pedro, at an awkward height, but he hits it true! Caballoro dives out of nowhere and makes a magnificent save! That'll be huge for Caballero's self confidence!
Goal for City, instant reply! Iheanacho and Faupala play a delightful one-two on the edge of the Chelsea box. Iheanacho finds himself on the right hand side, deep in the box. His outside of the boot cross is bundled in by Faupala. What a game we have in store! Chelsea 1-1 City!
Goal for Chelsea! Fabregas dinks a ball over the City back-line which Hazard picks up, running away from goal and whips in a magnificent ball to Costa who is on the 6 yard box. He is between Kolarov and Demichelis and his diving header hits the back of the net! Chelsea 1-0 City.
City, who seem to be playing off scraps, have Zabaleta in a good position on the right hand side. His cross is hit low and with power but him and Faupala seem to be on different wavelengths as it trickles out for a goal kick to Chelsea.
Baba, who is always in an attacking position, whips in a delightful left footed cross to Pedro at the back post. Pedro seems to be in on goal but the assistant referee has adjudged Pedro to have been in an offside position!
Neat footwork from Mikel in the centre of the park ends with Baba having the ball on the left hand side. His driven, low cross isn't dealt with by Caballero who flaps at it and luckily for him the ball falls to Adarabioyo, who clears the ball from danger.
Chance for Chelsea! Moments later Fabregas hits a sizzling strike from 25 yards out, centre of goal. Caballero takes the ball into his grasp with no qualms. Still 0-0 here at Stamford Bridge.
City play the ball down the left and Kolarov has space and time on his favored left foot. The ball is poor and easily blocked by Azpilicueta.
The Manchester City fans have begun to boo Diego Costa for what they think was a dive, earlier on in the game. Costa will be used to that and continues his game.
Chelsea on top here at Stamford Bridge!
Penalty shout! Adarabioyo tackles Costa through the back and Costa makes a meal of it!
Andre Marriner is having none of it and the teams play on.
Cahill has been in the wars today! Him and Faupala go up and contest for a header. Faupala comes in slightly late and headers Cahill's nose.
Cahill is back to his feet but with a bleeding nose, that will need to be treated.
Chelsea who have had the lion's share of possession show exactly why they are the champions of England. Fabregas and Pedro play a delightful one-two which ends with Pedro striking the post. So close for Chelsea!
Hazard, who hasn't been at his best this season, runs down the left wing and under very little pressure seems to miscontrol the ball and it rolls out for a goal kick to City.
Cahill is down with what seems to be a calf strain. The American, Miazga, begins to warm-up! Hiddink will be hoping to have his first choice centre-back, Cahill, back for the rest of the match.
Andre Marriner will have to keep his wits about him today with many silky players on show for both sides today. No fouls as of yet.
Chelsea have started have started the brighter but the City Frenchman, Faupala, nutmegs two Chelsea defenders on the break and fires a blistering strike to Courtios' near post. The Belgiun parries it wide and the danger is cleared.
The game has kicked off!
Chelsea captained by Branislav Ivanovic and City captained by Pablo Zabaleta.
Manuel Pellegriniwill be hoping that his game-plan comes to fruition. Will it? Only time will tell!
Manuel Pellegrini's team selection will leave many football fans scratching their heads, with the exclusion of many first team players. Guus Hiddink, on the other hand, has not taken any risks with his team selection. He has chosen his strongest eleven despite their mid-week loss to Paris Saint-Germain.
Future boss Pep Guardiola must be looking on and wondering how this game will unfold.
