Cape Town - Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo got trolled by the internet for his goal-scoring pose in Saturday night's Madrid derby.

Ronaldo scored a hat-trick as Real thumped Athletico 3-0 at Atletico's Vicente Calderon on Saturday, as Real extended their lead to four points at the top of the La Liga standings.

After scoring the second of his three goals, instead of performing his usual jump and fist pump, Ronaldo crouched forward and held his chin.

The pose, which closely resembles Auguste Rodin's sculpture 'The Thinker' broke the internet with hundreds photoshopping the football star by making him crouch in hilarious circumstances.

Even Ronaldo's son poked fun at his dad's famous pose, as the 31-year-old said on Instagram: "The boys make fun of me".

This isn't the first time the Portuguese star has been trolled on the internet. Last month, Ronaldo made the mistake of standing next to his Lamborghini on Instagram, which prompted hilarious memes.
