Gervinho leaving Roma, says club official

Milan - Ivorian striker Gervinho will leave Roma as soon as contract talks with interested parties end in the coming days, the Serie A club's sporting director Mauro Baldissoni confirmed.

"I can confirm we're currently in talks, we've received interesting offers and when a player wants to leave the club there's little you can do," Baldissoni told Mediaset Premium before Roma kicked off at Juventus.

"It could be settled very quickly."

Gervinho has hit only six league goals for Roma this season and the Ivory Coast striker moved closer to the Stadio Olimpico exit door following the sacking of coach Rudi Garcia.

Garcia, who brought Gervinho to Serie A in 2013 having also taken him to Lille, where the striker won a league and Cup double in 2011 before moving to Arsenal, was sacked two weeks ago and replaced by former coach Luciano Spalletti.
