EFL Cup an opportunity for silverware, says Klopp

Cape Town - Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insists he isn't feeling any undue pressure and is looking forward to competing in the EFL Cup because it's a good chance for silverware.

The Reds haven't won a trophy since 2012, when they lifted the same trophy after a penalty-shootout victory over Cardiff, and Klopp is eager to add to the club's trophy cabinet.

Meanwhile on the Premier League front, Klopp's side have fallen five points behind leaders Manchester City and Manchester United after two draws and a defeat so far, but he isn't concerned just yet.

"For me, no. I'm not sure if there is pressure on us. I don't feel pressure. I feel opportunity, I feel the chance to do something really good. I see the opportunity to win a very, very interesting cup competition," the German said in a press conference.

"I probably have pressure, yes, but it cannot be bigger than the pressure I put on myself - and I'm used to that. That's what we try to do.

"I watch the games of United and City because it's interesting to see, but it's not my job to count points and say 'now they have this lead'."

Liverpool will travel to Leicester City on Tuesday in the third round of the EFL Cup.
