Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs forward Khama Billiat is racing against time to be fit for Zimbabwe in Sunday's 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against DR Congo.
According to reports in Zimbabwe, the 28-year old sustained a knock in last Saturday Amakhosi 1-0 loss to Supersport United in the MTN8.
Billiat has hit the ground running in Chiefs colours netting three goals in his first eight games.
Warriors team doctor Solomon Mudariki confirmed that the Amakhosi forward has not trained with the rest of his teammates this week, but has a chance of playing on Sunday.
Zimbabwe are away to Congo in Brazzaville on Sunday in their second match of Group G.
The Warriors top their group with three points having beaten Liberia 3-0 in their opener, where former Chiefs hitman Knowledge Musona netted a hat-trick.
"We are monitoring the situation with Khama Billiat. He had a knock at the weekend, but we are doing all we can to make him available for Sunday's match," Mudariki told the Herald Newspaper.
