Cape Town - Mario Balotelli has branded suggestions he wore a shirt with Marcus Rashford's face on it just in case he scored against Paris Saint-Germain as 'bull****'.
Balotelli's Marseille were beaten 3-1 in Le Classique on Sunday as PSG moved 20 points clear at the top of Ligue 1 with a game in hand.
The Italian failed to make much of an impact before being substituted in the 65th minute, having had just one shot all game.
That is quite the pity, as Canal + claimed that he had a wonderful celebration planned in case he scored.
The French TV channel reported that the striker had worn a United shirt with Rashford's name on it under his Marseille kit in homage to the England international, who scored the penalty that knocked PSG out of the Champions League earlier this month.
But Balotelli took to Instagram to deny the claims on Monday morning, describing them as 'bull****' and asking the media to 'stop creating fake stories over me'.
Sadly, the only real drama at the Parc des Princes was when Kylian Mbappe refused to let Angel di Maria take a stoppage-time penalty when the Argentinean was on a hat-trick. Mbappe went on to miss the spot kick in the encounter.
