Argentina stay top of FIFA rankings

Paris - Lionel Messi's Argentina remain top of FIFA's world rankings published on Thursday.

Argentina finished 2016 out in front of arch-rivals Brazil to inherit the 'team of the year' title from Belgium who were displaced from the FIFA summit by the Edgardo Bauza-coached Argentine side in April.

Bafana Bafana remained unmoved in 60th position - and 11th in Africa.
