Zlatan fit for Austria clash

Stockholm - Sweden captain Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been declared fit to play in his country's Euro 2016 qualifier at home to Austria on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old Paris Saint-Germain striker came off at half-time in Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Russia in Moscow, complaining of an apparent abdominal injury.

The Swedish Football Federation confirmed, however, that Ibrahimovic, capped 106 times with 56 goals scored for the national side, would be in Tuesday's line-up.

Coach Erik Hamren has opted to revert to a 4-4-2 formation after unsuccessfully trying out 4-5-1 in the Russia defeat.

Sweden are second in Group G with three games remaining, one point clear of the Russians and seven behind leaders Austria, who need just one point to seal their berth in France.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
