Zidane gains UEFA licence

Paris - Zinedine Zidane was granted his UEFA Pro Licence coaching badge on Friday, paving the way for the French great to move into a top-level job.

"Very proud to have received my coaching diploma. Mission accomplished," the Soccer World Cup winner wrote on his Instagram account.

Friday's award ends a long-running saga over Zidane's coaching credentials after he was suspended for three months by the Spanish football federation for coaching without the correct qualification.

He was reinstated and returned to work as coach of Real Madrid's reserve team.
