Cape Town - Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen has a big week ahead of him as he captains Wales in their international friendly against the Netherlands, and then ties the knot with fiance Lacey-Jo.
The 24-year-old will captain his country in their international friendly in Amsterdam this evening, after receiving significant praise from Wales coach Chris Coleman.
While his wedding this coming Saturday may be somewhat on his mind, Allen has insisted his focus is firmly on his duty and responsibilities to Wales in tonight's game. Allen admitted it hasn't really sunk in that he's getting married over the weekend because his focus has been on Wales, but come the end of the game he is sure it'll hit him.
"I'm tying the knot at the weekend so it's a pretty special week for me," Allen told Liverpool's official website. "I've got a huge game to come first and foremost, and after is when it will really hit me.
"I think I'm going to wing it with both speeches so we'll have to see how it goes. I'm not sure I can think about Saturday yet - one challenge at a time.
"They are both huge challenges. The weekend is to think about after the game. It's one I've been looking forward to for a long time."
