Age no worry for CR7

Cape Town - Former Real Madrid director Jorge Valdano is convinced Cristiano Ronaldo will continue playing at the top of his game for years to come, claiming age will not affect him the way it does other footballers.

The Portugal international will celebrate his 30th birthday in February next year, but has shown no signs of slowing down after netting his 10th goal in five Primera Liga appearances this season.

That sort of form has Valdano convinced that Ronaldo still has many years of world beating ahead of him, telling Marca: "Normally, age starts playing a role in football as you get older. But Ronaldo is exceptional on all counts, including this.

"Cristiano is a tremendous player. He is always looking for perfection and is incredibly ambitious, which only spurs on his team-mates. This is worth a lot, just like all his goals.

"I think Ronaldo is the only player in the world who could play in each position in attack and be dominant regardless of where he plays.

"The shortest distance between two points is the distance between Ronaldo and the goal."
