Cape Town - Thierry Henry has announced his retirement from soccer and will be joining broadcaster Sky Sports as an analyst in London.
France's top scorer left his last club, the New York Red Bulls at the beginning of December and there was speculation whether the silky forward may continue his career with another club or retire.
The Frenchman cleared that issue up with a statement on his Facebook page, saying: "After 20 years in the game I have decided to retire from professional football."
