Robinho joins Santos

Cape Town - Former Real Madrid striker Robinho has joined his boyhood club Santos in Brazil on a year-long loan deal for a third time during his football career.

The 30-year-old forward originally left Santos in a move to the San Siro back in 2005, but reports suggest that being back at the Brazilian club is where Robinho wants to be.

"It's my home," Robinho told Santos’ official website. "It's a place where I feel very good, where I showed up to the football world.

"I hope to repay all the affection of the fans on the pitch. I want to put Santos where it has to be, which is in the highest place in the table," added the former Brazilian national team star.

Santos are currently in sixth place in the Brazilian Serie A, after 13 games, and Robinho will hope to get his third stint with the club off to a winning start when they face Corinthians on Sunday.
