Ribery returns to Bayern training

Berlin - France winger Franck Ribery has returned to training with German giants Bayern Munich and is on track in his recovery from a knee injury, the club announced on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old has suffered with recurring pain in the patellar tendon in his left knee, but was put through his paces by Bayern's fitness staff and trained with the ball for the first time on Tuesday.

Ribery has made just one appearance for Bayern this season, coming off the bench to score in a 2-0 league win at home to VfB Stuttgart last month, and is part of a group of Munich stars who are coming back from injury.

Bastian Schweinsteiger, Thiago Alcantara, Javi Martinez and Holger Badstuber are also all working their way back and coach Pep Guardiola has said they will have as long as they need with defending champions Bayern four points clear at the top of the Bundesliga.

"We aren't putting them under pressure, they need more time and they'll have it," said the Spaniard.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
