Pique: Suarez something else

Cape Town - Barcelona defender Gerard Pique believes new forward Luis Suarez brings something different to the squad as they prepare for El Clasico.

Suarez joined the Blaugrana from Liverpool in the off-season and is yet to make a competitive appearance for the Catalan outfit after serving a ban for biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini during Uruguay's 2-1 win over the Italy at the World Cup earlier this year.

Having completed the ban, the controversial Uruguayan is expected to make his much-anticipated debut in the El Clasico clash with Real Madrid on Sunday.

Pique believes Suarez's ability to make something out of nothing will bring a different aspect to their game and is confident they can get a good result at the Bernebeu.

"Suarez is a really different player to what we have right now," Pique told Sky Sports. "His style is with all the rebounds.

"He plays differently, for example, to Andres Iniesta or Xavi - they are sweet with the ball and Suarez is the opposite. But we need that.

"From nothing he can score a goal. From two rebounds in the box the ball is always at his feet so he can score. He is a really good signing as he can pressure the defenders a lot which will help us.

"I think he is ready to play in the Clasico. A couple of days ago he scored twice against Oman and he is fit. When he arrived, he needed a bit of training. But right now he is fit to play. The first game he can play is against Madrid in the Clasico so maybe we will see him.

"In the Bernabeu we have won a lot of times and historically it has been difficult for Barcelona to play there, so we are happy about that."
