Cape Town - New Real Sociedad boss David Moyes has asserted that
the Spanish Primera Division is "better than the Premier League".
Moyes, who spent 11 years at Everton before enduring a horror 10-month spell at Manchester United, was unveiled as Sociedad's new manager on Thursday, and wasted little time in trying to get the local press to warm to him.
"Real Sociedad tugged at my heart strings," Football411 quotes Moyes as saying.
"La Liga has the finest players and great coaches and I want to test myself against the best.
"This is the best league in the world, in my opinion," he added.
"I see great morale amongst the players - last Sunday's result against Atletico really lifted them. My job is to extract the best of them and make them competitive.
"I feel this job fits my character. It's been a big decision for me and my family."
Moyes' first match in charge will be a clash with Deportivo on November 22, and the Scot says that he is looking forward to making his mark at the club.
"I had a great 11 years at Everton, a club very similar to this," said the 51-year-old.
"I took over Everton and grew it and it got better and better. I am hoping I can do the same here.
"It is the right time. I am well rested and I am ready to go," he added.
