Messi struck by bottle

2014-12-01 10:28
Cape Town - Lionel Messi was struck by a bottle after celebrating his side's dramatic inury-time winner against Valencia.

Sergio Busquets volleyed home the only goal of the game deep into stoppage time.

The Spanish international pounced after Diego Alves had made a great save from Neymar's header to ensure Barca close to within two points of leaders Real Madrid.

Messi was then hit by a bottle thrown from the crowd.

The Argentine national player appeared slightly hurt from the incident.
