Lyon - Claudio Beauvue whose 17 goals in Ligue 1 last season for Guingamp equalled the club record set by Didier Drogba in 2003 signed a four year deal with Ligue 1 giants Lyon on Thursday for an initial €4.5 million.
The 27-year-old forward, who scored 27 goals for the Brittany club in all competitions last season, agreed to move last Saturday but the deal was only confirmed on Thursday.
Last year's Ligue 1 runners-up will pay Guingamp €4.5 million up front, but that figure could rise to €7.5 million depending on appearances for Beauvue, who is primarily a winger but can also play striker.
Guingamp, with whom Beauvue won the 2014 French Cup, will also receive a percentage of any future sell-on fee.
Beauvue, who had been closely watched by clubs in the English Premier League, was also wanted by Marseille and had been offered a lucrative contract by Qatari side El Jaish.
But the Guadeloupe native was persuaded to move to Lyon, who will be back in the Champions League next season, because of the prospect of playing alongside French international Alexandre Lacazette in attack.
He is Lyon's second summer signing after that of defender Jeremy Morel from Marseille.
