Paris - Former Cameroon goalkeeper Carlos Kameni was the standout African in Europe at the weekend as he helped Malaga stun Barcelona in La Liga.

Malaga triumphed 1-0 at Camp Nou and Kameni became the first shot-stopper in seven seasons to keep clean sheets in both league games against Barca.

A memorable weekend for Senegalese stars in England saw Cheikhou Kouyate, Diafra Sakho, Mame Biram Diouf and Dame N'Doye score.

The Senegal midfielder opened the scoring in his side's 2-2 draw against Tottenham at White Hart Lane. The 25-year-old powered home a header in the 22nd minute for his third goal of the season and first away goal since joining the Hammers last year.

The Senegal striker scored his 11th goal of an impressive first season in the Premier League to give West Ham a 2-0 lead at Tottenham. The 25-year-old struck in the 62nd minute, stretching at the far post to convert a Mark Noble cross.

The Senegal forward helped his side to a 2-1 win at Aston Villa with his first league goal since December. The 27-year-old, who had been away on Africa Cup of Nations duty, headed in Stephen Ireland's cross just before half-time for his seventh goal of the season.

The Nigeria winger kept his composure to convert the stoppage-time penalty that gave Stoke a dramatic victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park. The 24-year-old, on loan from Chelsea, scored his third goal for Mark Hughes' team after winning the penalty when he was fouled in the final moments of the second half by Ron Vlaar, who was sent off.

The Senegal striker celebrated his 30th birthday by scoring a last-gasp winner to give his team a vital 2-1 win over 10-man QPR at the KC Stadium. N'Doye, who arrived from Lokomotiv Moscow during the January transfer window, headed home in the 89th minute for his second goal in his last two appearances.

Cameroonian Kameni became the first goalkeeper in seven seasons to keep two clean sheets against Barcelona in La Liga as Malaga stunned the Camp Nou with a 1-0 win. Kameni wasn't overly worked by Barca's star frontline, but did make vital saves to deny Luis Suarez and Gerard Pique in stoppage time.

Algerian Ghilas scored his seventh goal of the season from the penalty spot, but it wasn't enough to prevent Cordoba slipping to a fifth consecutive defeat as Valencia emerged 2-1 away victors.

Two days after being stopped by police while driving a Porsche without a licence, Babacar was in the dock again after spurning a host of chances to give Fiorentina the lead at home to Torino. The Senegal striker saw a first-half penalty parried by Daniele Padelli and then narrowy missed the target with several promising shots. Coach Vincenzo Montella finally lost patience and replaced the misfiring striker on 78 minutes.

MOHAMED SALAH (Fiorentina)

Egyptian Salah has made a positive impact since joining Fiorentina on loan from Chelsea, and continued the trend by coming off the bench on 66 minutes to give La Viola an 85th-minute lead over Torino. The visitors levelled two minutes later.

Doumbia has so far failed to show why Roma lured the Ivory Coast striker from CSKA Moscow on a multiple-year contract and the club's sports director Walter Sabatini told Italian television he had "made a mistake" by not assessing Doumbia's fitness levels before signing the recently-crowned African champion. Doumbia does not look short of fitness, but his and Roma's lack of goals in what is proving a lean spell for the club is not doing his reputation any good.

Monaco won 1-0 at local rivals Nice despite having Tunisia defender Abdennour sent off just before half-time for a dangerous studs-up challenge.Abdennour had started the game in central defence before switching to left-back after France international Layvin Kurzawa limped off.

The 18-year-old Malian defender made his Ligue 1 debut off the bench against Nice as a first-half replacement for the injured Layvin Kurzawa. Likened by his coach Leonardo Jardim to Chelsea right-back Branislav Ivanovic, Toure made his professional bow in the recent French Cup game against Rennes and scored in a 3-1 victory.

The France-born Ivory Coast forward was not part of Herve Renard's squad that won the Africa Cup of Nations this month. Instead, the 25-year-old left Swiss champions Basel in the January transfer window to join Bastia on loan. After scoring his first goal for the club in last week's 2-0 win at Nantes, he got the equaliser as the Corsicans came from behind to beat Lille 2-1 and extend their unbeaten league run to nine games.

The exciting 21-year-old was credited with the only goal of the game as Lyon beat Nantes 1-0 to end another week on top of the Ligue 1 table. It was his ninth league goal of an impressive breakthrough campaign as Lyon fight for the title. Fekir was born in France but has Algerian roots, and both countries would like him to commit his international future to them.

MAX-ALAIN GRADEL (Saint-Etienne)

The 27-year-old was part of the Ivory Coast side that won the recent Africa Cup of Nations with a penalty shoot-out victory over Ghana in the final, and he netted from the penalty spot to put Saint-Etienne ahead against Marseille in an entertaining 2-2 draw.

The Gabon striker had the ball in the net three times during Dortmund's 3-2 win over VfB Stuttgart. Two strikes were correctly ruled offside but Aubameyang did get the all-important opening goal after 25 minutes. It was his ninth league goal this season and he has scored in each of the past three weeks.

SEREY DIE (Stuttgart)

The Ivory Coast midfielder made his presence felt in his first start in the Bundesliga since moving from Swiss side Basel. The 30-year-old was combative in central midfield for the Bundesliga's bottom club and got booked with six minutes left.

The Nigerian striker headed the equaliser after 17 minutes of Cologne's 1-1 home draw against Hanover 96. Ujah's seventh goal of the campaign was Cologne's first at home in 363 minutes. The 24-year-old caused numerous problems for the visitors, going close with a shot in the second half and was hauled down just outside the box as Cologne pressed for a winning goal.
