Four options for AFCON 2017

Johannesburg - Algeria, Egypt, Gabon and Ghana remain contenders to host the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations after the original list of seven countries was trimmed by the organisers Monday.

An African Football Confederation (CAF) statement said Kenya, Sudan and Zimbabwe were not "compliant with the set criteria".

Original 2017 hosts Libya withdrew because of ongoing violence between rival militias more than three years after the overthrow of dictator Moamer Kadhafi.

The CAF executive committee will choose the 2017 hosts next year on a date to be announced.
