Crespo gets coaching role

Modena - Italian Serie B club Modena says it has appointed former Argentina striker Hernan Crespo as its new coach.

Crespo, who had been coaching the youth squad of Parma, the club where he played twice during his playing career, has signed a one-year contract with an option for a further two years.

Crespo, who turns 40 on Sunday, joins a club that finished 18th in the 22-team second tier last season and had to come through a relegation playoff to avoid the drop.
