Carvajal pens new deal

Madrid - Real Madrid says right-back Dani Carvajal has agreed to extend his contract through the end of the 2019-20 season.

The 23-year-old Spain defender joined Madrid's youth academy at the age of 10.

He has played for Madrid's first team for the past two seasons, helping it win the Champions League and the Copa del Rey in 2014.

Carvajal will likely compete with newcomer Danilo for a spot in Rafa Benitez's starting XI.
