Atletico signs Cani

Madrid - Atletico Madrid has reinforced its already potent midfield by bringing in Ruben "Cani" Gracia on loan from fellow Spanish club Villarreal.

The 33-year-old Cani will finish the season with the league champions.

After helping Real Zaragoza win the Copa del Rey, Cani has played for Villarreal since 2006 - scoring 33 goals in eight and a half seasons.

He will now form part of a talented midfield featuring Jorge "Koke" Resurreccion, Arda Turan and Gabi Fernandez.
